We are fortunate to be situated in an area where there is so much to see and do.

This is just a flavour of what you can do and where you can go for days out.

The World Heritage Jurassic Coast is only about 20 minutes drive where you can hunt for fossils, go on fishing trips, build sand castles, or have a RIB charter. The sea side towns of Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Weymouth (the home of the water-sport olympic events, 2012), West Bay, (home of Broadchurch) where the highest point along the south west coast of Golden Cap is situated, all have many attractions.

Further inland Bridport with its Brewery and street markets and Dorchester (the county town) with numerous museums such as The County museum, Teddy Bear, Dinosaur, Terracotta Warrior and Tutankhamun Exhibition along with delightful individual shops, Axminster, with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River CafĂ© provide for good days out.

Inland you will also find visits and tours of vineyards such as Furleigh Estate, farm shops where you can sample and buy local produce such as at Washingpool or Barley Mow, craft shops as at Broadwindsor plus numerous historic houses and gardens; Forde Abbey, Kingston Maurward, Athelhampton House, Mapperton House to name a few.

Then there are the historic landmarks of Maiden Castle, Cerne Abbas Giant, and various Hillforts such as Eggardon, Pillsden Pen to name a couple, and many walks through ancient harrowed ways and long distance paths such as The Ridgeway, Monarch Way, Brit Valley Way and Jubilee Trail.

Further inland still are Sherborne with its Castle and Shaftesbury with its famous Gold Hill overlooking the Blackmore Vale.

Dorset is also Thomas Hardy country and a visit to Hardy Cottage and exploring places in his books add to the delights of Dorset.
